I often fear for my future. Will my life have purpose and meaning? I get ahead of myself and lose track of the most important thing, my relationship with my Father. Yet you, God, ask me to live in the moment. You ask that I be ready to obey your commands and trust you even if what you are asking me to do looks scary or challenging. You have a purpose for my life and want me to be strong in you, full of faith, and listening to you for wisdom. You guide me along the path of life. When life brings me unavoidable pain and sadness, you promise me that you will walk with me through it. You redeem me, renew me, and give me hope. It is for these reasons obeying you will come from a glad and grateful heart. I know that your commands always brings goodness to my life. While you may not have me take the easiest path or allow me to avoid adversity, you do for me what is in my best interest out of your unfailing love. I can trust that you are the most perfect parent, always doing for me what is good and always full of love and grace. I am thankful for this.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
