The Big Move!

Hello All! Well, I have been gone from blog land for a few days. We moved into a new house! The past week has been pure nutty. Busy, stressful, and hectic for sure.

I always forget how much I dislike moving. Once you feel like you are on a roll, you lift the sofa and find those little items that have been missing for the past year. Or how about sifting through all that “paperwork” that you’ve been meaning to get to for the past six months in an hour?

Along with the stress of moving, I also had a bad case of “air head” this week. Here is a condensed list of a few annoying things I did due to being in a rush and being stressed:

1. Waited too long to update my I-phone software, so that when I did my storage was full and I lost all my contacts and pictures! (Grr…)

2. Allowed Lillian to hold my keys momentarily while I put on my shoes before leaving the house for a run. When I went to leave, I could not find them ANYWHERE. Four hours later (and a bit of crying and pulling apart my house like a crazy lady) I found them in a bucket of soapy water from mopping that morning.

3. I ran out of to-go mugs, so decided to take my coffee in a regular mug down the street. BAD idea. I knew it was a bad idea as I did it. I spilled coffee all over myself when I pulled out of the driveway.

Well, this time moving really rocked my boat, not only was I trying to get all packed and ready to go but was also trying to do so with a toddler. It was crazy. There were a few moments when I felt like a bad mom- specifically one time when I turned around and found Lillian fascinated with the toilet plunger! Ew!

Below are some pics of the fun move. It was fun though. We made memories, and nothing too disastrous happened along the way. Once we were all moved in, we treated ourselves to some burgers, chips, beer, and for the boys- a nice bottle of Single Malt Scotch Whiskey:).

Sometimes life is crazy. But that is what makes it fun. I gotta let go of being perfect, having it all together, and getting everything done overnight. Because that is just impossible.

I am excited to have our own house now to make memories in for the next years. It has been a really cool week. I am grateful. 🙂
