Moment of truth- I have made so many dumb mistakes amidst my time blogging. The sad thing is I still make them.
Blogging is a learning curve. It takes a while to figure it out. Any blogger will tell you this is true. Blogging is daunting. You are basically putting yourself out there for all to see.
Here I will share with you some of the silly things I have done.
1. I was a no-reply comment blogger for almost 6 months.
This was a sad time for me, because I thought no one liked me! The truth is, my settings in blogger were all messed up and I couldn’t receive replies back! Finally, a wonderful blogger sent me an email letting me know what was going on! Are you a no-reply comment blogger? Check it out- because if you feel like you are being ignored that might be why! Plus, it is really frustrating trying to reply to you gals who are no-reply comment bloggers because I literally CANNOT get in touch with you! (Sadly, there are tons of bloggers out there who have this setting wrong- I have tried to reply to many of you!) Here is a nice tutorial that can show you how to fix this issue.
2. This is my third blog.
Yep. It is true. I have started two other blogs. One that was strictly a mom blog and I knew it was nauseating. Then another on being thrifty. Both of them were like chores for me. It took me almost a year of stalking other blogs and researching how to blog until I got into my groove. And I am still learning!
3. I’ve done some things I couldn’t stand.
Half of my ideas I end up disliking. I have done link ups that straight up fail. It is a little embarrassing to put your effort into something and see it deflate before your eyes. But it is a learning experience, and we all go through it.
4. I’ve been way too cheesy.
Oh, this is the worst sometimes. I have looked back at posts and cringed. I am known for being a little too cheesy, and some of my posts take the cake. In the moment I was sincere! Ha.
5. I’ve posted for the sake of posting.
Don’t judge me. I know you have too! There have been a few times where I have literally muscled out a post like it was the last crunch my abs could take in my Body Pump class. I don’t know why I do this.
6. I’ve been flaky.
Friends, if I have ever not responded to an email or replied back to a comment please forgive me! I have totally spaced here and there, and by the time I’ve wanted to respond it was way too embarrassing. Overall, I am pretty good at getting back. But I have had a few cases I was a complete and utter failure.
7. My family or friends do not read my blog.
I don’t know if this last one is a fail or not, but I can count on one hand the people I see on a day to day basis who read my blog. I mean, I started this for my family because I live far away. Funny enough, they don’t read it! Neither do my friends. The curious thing is lots of other bloggers out there experience the same phenomenon!
