The slowdown after summer

Wow. Summer has been a whirlwind. Between vacations, home projects, and motherhood I find myself at times not knowing whether I want to take a nap or tackle another project.
I always look forward to summer, but right now my heart is longing for the sweet calm of fall. I am actually longing for a routine, a bit of stability and predictability, and more reasons to bundle up and cuddle with my family.
The last few days I have tried to take time to cherish the sweet, everyday moments that sneak up on me. A sweet kiss from my daughter, and snuggle on the couch with my husband, or a conversation with my momma.
I start a new, part time job on Thursday. I am a little nervous about it. I will be nannying a couple days a week. I get to bring along my daughter, which is such a blessing. I have had almost 17 months of one-on-one time with her. It has been the most wonderful time of my life. I have prayed to God over and over again to show me if and when the time is right to go back to work. Opportunities have come up, and I have always turned them down. Something always felt off. This time, I felt excited and ready. I am happy my daughter will have a little play friend, I will have the chance to love on another little gal, and will also have some cash in my pocket. Not a bad deal. Plus, I will still have some time to take care of my husband and home.
We just did a bedroom makeover on Lillian’s room. It was amazing. New paint, new dresser, new decor. I had the help of expert handymen (my parents). They seriously rocked it. They need to star in a home makeover show. Three days of ten hour shifts later and her room was transformed. I am in awe and have so much gratitude for what they did. Pictures to come!
Other than that, we have had a whirlwind of families come into town. My mom, stayed here for about 8 days and that was lovely. We hung out downtown, did some happy hour time, and laughed- a lot. She is a generous woman. I love her.
I helped my sister relocate into a new house with roommates. She is in her masters program (smarty), and needed some help. Well, I hauled around Lillian and did a ton of home projects for her, too!
We still have a few more family members to come. Each week has been filled with fun, memories, and lots of sun. How I fit blogging into this summer I will never know (well, I pre-scheduled most of my posts, lol).
Stay tuned- blogging friends. I have some ideas for this blog this fall. I want to delve a little deeper into ordinary things like love, faith, and life. This little space is an investment I continue to work at, because I love where it is taking me. Thank you all for your encouragement, friendship, support, and talents. You all inspire me:).

She is adorable! Nannying will be a great job for you, being able to stay with your little one is a huge plus! Nannying is so much fun! I always say if we need me to do something at home, I will do home daycare again so I can stay home with baby boy and make some extra money! It’s a bonus for them to have friends!

Aw! The jobs sounds absolutely perfect for you! I too can’t wait for fall! Just something about it makes me feel like okay, start relaxing and enjoying things! Maybe because summer is so busy and hot. I can’t wait to see the room reveal and see what you have coming up for the fall!

    Have a good day!
