Do your kids like chocolate milk as much as mine does? It is her go-to drink. I usually have a few of these in my fridge for post park days or gymnastics. Chocolate milk is a great recovery drink for my daughter who is extremely active and a bit of a bird eater. I am happy she gets a few calories in as well as some protein after she has been super busy.
I have been busy trying some new snack recipes that have less sugar in them and are not so processed. So far I have made some trail mix cookies, and today I tried these little no bake energy bites.
These no bake energy bites literally take 5-10 minutes to make and there is no cooking required. I love them for park play dates or a quick bite right after a work out (and there is still a bit of time before dinner). These have less sugar in them than most cookies. I love the dark chocolate morsels and flavor of the toasted coconut. They only have five ingredients in them: dark chocolate chips, toasted coconut, vanilla extract, nut butter (I used chocolate peanut butter- yum!), and oatmeal. They are not super sweet, which I love, but you can easily sweeten them up with a bit of liquid stevia or honey.
I also keep a few Shamrock Farms Chocolate mmmmilk! in my fridge. I prefer to buy them for only $1 a piece as opposed to spending almost double that out on the road or at coffee shops. Shamrock Farms single serve milks, are now available at Walmart. For more after school snack ideas, go here!
If you want a chance to win $5,000 in gift cards, here is a back-to-school sweepstakes you can enter!
