5 back to school must haves

Preschool starts for my daughter next week. I can’t believe it. Where did the time go? Anyways, I am really excited for her because I think she will absolutely love it. Plus, I will get a little “Mommy” time, which is equally fantastic.

I’ve been prepping for the school year checking out deals. She is pretty set on fall clothes and shoes, and I recently stocked up at some end of summer sales for the spring and summer. I love a good deal.

For back to school, I knew we would need a few items that would be used daily. These fun items were our picks for the fall. I am sure we will be getting tons of use out of them (we already have!). I also checked out’s back to school sale.

1. A solid water bottle

So essential for us is a water bottle designed for my daughter. I chose a spill proof and leak proof design that insulates and is very sturdy. The few times I have used a sippy cup or cheaper cup I am always disappointed. Water leaks or the cup breaks. I have found my daughter drinks more water when I have a good water bottle for her, and they always last longer. Try the Nalgene Everyday Kids Grip’ N Gulp or the Gaiam Kids Water Bottle.

2. Cozy & easy to put on shoes

Can I tell you my pet peeve? Waiting for my daughter to put on her shoes, only to realize she took them off in the car and we are late. I know it takes two seconds, but putting on shoes again and again drives me crazy! I ordered these adorable Frozen crocs so that during the year she can simply slide them on and off. No fuss, happy Mom. I’ve noticed these adorable little crocs are all the rage lately for little ones. I totally get it! Crocs Girls’ Frozen Clog.

3. The perfect lunchbag

I finally found the perfect lunch bag. PackIt Freezable Lunch Bags are great because rathter than remembering to pack ice in the lunch box or bag, you can freeze the bag overnight and it stays cool for up to ten hours! No need for heavy ice packs. I also love the velcro closure. Find it here.

4. A lightweight hoodie

Kids get hot and cold pretty quickly. I wanted to be prepared for cool fall days with a cute lightweight hoodie for my daughter. This one from Roxy is not only adorable, but super soft and light. I wish they had it in my size! Roxy Girls’ Brooklyn Zip Front Hoodie.

5. Fun backpack

Last but not least, every little kiddo loves getting the perfect backpack. I remember getting so excited to pick out a new fall backpack. My daughter chose Disney Princesses of course. I love it! Find one similar here.

Are your kids going back to school? What are their fave back to school items that save you time?

These things are still important in elementary school too! Although for my 4th grade daughter the “cool” part of the shoe is much more important than the easy to put on part!
