I have found that it is vital to keep my purse stocked with some handy essentials as a mom of a toddler. I love not having to have a diaper bag in tow anymore (ah- that was a LOT to have to keep in one bag), but there are still some things I need in a pinch.

Over the year I have figured out a few things I always need for any occasion and try to keep my purse stocked. I usually try to make sure I have a few handy things like baby wipes (I definitely still need them even though my girl is almost four!), hand sanitizer for thosse icky outdoor park potty’s, and a few other things like an extra pair of underwear and socks.

Here are some of my purse essentials as a mom of a toddler:

Hand Sanitizer:

There have been way too many occasions that I have wished I had some hand sanitizer. We love to go hiking and to outdoor parks, but the bathrooms are usually not well-maintained and stocked with hand soap or dryers. Also, when we go to festivals or farmer’s markets there are usually only portable toilets. You know how that goes with a toddler! (DON”T TOUCH ANYTHING!!!!)

Activity/ Game:

I always try to have an activity or pack of crayons in my purse for doctor appointments or last minute restaurant outings. I have learned that not having something to keep my busy tot entertained during errands is a bad move. We got this little Spot It game at Chic Fil A and it is perfect to keep handy in my bag for last minute entertainment.

Gum:

Let’s face it- mommy sometimes needs to freshen her breathe. Morning coffee breathe or post Mexican food is never a good thing.

Chapstick Total Hydration:

Living in Colorado is very harsh on my lips. It is so dry here that I need to keep my lips moisturized. I love Chapstick Total Hydration because it is 100% natural, age defying, and instantly smooths and moisturizes.

Tissues:

Keeping tissues on hand is good for the fall/winter/spring months. We tend to get colds here and there, and it is the most annoying thing in the world needing a tissue and not having one handy. It usually ends with my daughter using my shirt as a snot rag. (Sad face.)

Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables:

Speaking of colds, I really love these Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables. I have always been a big fan of Emergen-C, and these chewables are perfect for the winter months. No need for a glass of water, I can simply give myself a quick and easy boost of immune support in a moment.

Journal:

Toddlers say hilarious things. I love having a pen and journal handy to record the silly things my daughter says. Like the other day when she told me I was being “Cheese.com”. Whatever that means!

Centrum VitaMints:

I wish I was one of those people who took my vitamins religiously. I usually forget. New Centrum VitaMints are adult multivitamins with a refreshingly minty taste you can take any time of day with or without food or water. Win.

I got these essentials at Walmart in the health section for a great price. I love having a well-stocked purse ready for the fall and winter months.
