Beautiful baby keepsakes for Mothers: MyKeepSet

I am a total sucker for baby keepsakes. There is something about capturing memories about my child that makes my heart all warm and fuzzy. Every year I have made it a habit to make a family photo album for Christmas. I love knowing that I can share these precious moments with my daughter for the years to come.

Today I am thrilled to share with my readers a sweet new memory keepsake. MyKeepSet is a beautiful memory kit perfect for busy moms just like me. I came across this set recently and am SO impressed by how adorable the design is! The set is perfect to record little one’s pictures and memories from conception to preschool.

Each set comes with the following:

  • (1) Baby Memory Book Of Firsts with room for a Big front cover picture – guided journal with colorful illustrations

  • (1) 9-inch picture frame box – to safely store & display the Baby Memory Book

  • (1) No-mess Air Dry Material Clay – hand or foot print keepsake

  • (10) DIY picture hanging frames – exciting way to hang the baby pictures

I found the set really cute and gender neutral and thought it would make a wonderful gift for an expecting mother. In fact,  intend to gift one to my sister in law with some other cute baby items such as a super adorable baby beanie and a board book. I LOVE the DIY paper photo hanging frames and think they are perfect for a birthday party! Of course, the clay hand print keepsake is just precious and every mother should have one if possible! I still have one I use as a Christmas ornament every year.

Go-To Holiday Appetizers

The holidays are such a busy time of year! Between ugly sweater parties and holiday events, I think everyone is looking for easy ways to entertain. I’ve attended several parties and hosted a couple, and needed to come up with simple and fun party appetizers. This year I made an easy Christmas Tree Guacamole Appetizer that was a huge hit, along with some Pita Tree appetizers with Feta Cucumber Dip and veggies. These make delicious and easy snacks for adults and kids!

I made the Guacamole Trees for a holiday party my friend and I hosted. They were so good that as I was making them my daughter (who is four) and I consumed enough for lunch. Adults and kids loved these little appetizers, which consisted of minimal prep and about five minutes of work. I simply diced fresh tomatoes and shredded sharp cheddar cheese. The crackers were lavash crackers from Sprouts. Perfect for guacamole as they are crispy and did not get soggy. I then spread a thin layer of GoodFoods Chunky Guacamole on each cracker and sprinkled cheese or tomatoes on top! So Good!

My favorite combo was the guacamole and cheese. I could eat a million of these! Having a “savory” snack at holiday parties is great since so much of the food consists of sweets around this time of year. Plus, there is some nutritional value to these awesome little tree appetizers!

The second appetizer that is super easy and yummy are little tree pitas. I simply cut up the pita bread into triangles and spread the GoodFoods Feta Cucumber Dip on top. I diced some fresh red bell peppers and sprinkled on top. The flavor combo was simple and amazing! These appetizers went super fast, and I was amazed how many people commented how delicious they were!

I found GoodFoods Chunky Guacamole and Feta Cucumber Dip at my local store Sprouts. We shop at Sprouts all the time and love all of the healthier options! I also grabbed the other items needed to make my appetizers, as well as some gifts for the hosts of the parties we were attending!

Tips for a fun co-ed baby shower with Basic Invite

My little sister is having a baby! I was so honored to get to host her baby shower at my house. It was a co-ed shower and was so simple and fun! The amazing thing about my sister and her husband is they are really laid back and have great friends, so it was important to make the baby shower fun and easy-going.

I started by picking out some really cute invitations from Basic Invite. It was the first time I had used the website, and I was really impressed by how easy and quick it was for me to make amazing invitations! There were so many color options, almost unlimited, and I was able to preview my work at any point! I did not know this at the time, but they also offer printed samples! Such a great idea! The peel and seal envelopes were also great and easy, and there are over 40 different color options to choose!

I was so grateful that the weather was beautiful the day of the shower! Gorgeous, eighty degree weather. We had some fun lawn games, such as corn hole. We decided to do some fun games such as “eat the poo out of the diaper”, “diaper olympics”, “beer chugging out of a bottle contest”, and “baby pictionary”. It was a hoot, and the guests loved it. Lots of laughter around.

For food we did a giant crockpot of slow cooked BBQ pork, with some yummy Hawaiian rolls. We cooked up some hot dogs and brats. There was a big macaroni salad, lots of dips and chips, and plenty of beer and cake!

My step-mother is an amazing interior decorator and she loves to decorate for events. She made some really cute favors for the guests and some beautiful party decor.

I also made my sister a super fun diaper cake. It was so much easier than I thought!

I was so grateful to be able to host a shower for my sister and her husband. They both mean so much to me and it was fun to be a part of their special day! Having a co-ed shower was really fun, and it was very low-key. I will definitely stick to keeping things simple in the future and will use Basic Invite again for gorgeous party invitations!
