I am a peanut butter and almond butter fanatic. I love delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with a good fruity jam, whole grain and nutty bread, and fantastic peanut or almond butter. This really might be my favorite meal.
I don’t like spending $6 or $7 bucks on a good butter, however.
Yesterday, we decided to try and make our own. Not only it is DELICIOUS, it was rather inexpensive too!
Try this out- it will not disappoint.
Homemade Peanut Butter with Brown Sugar
1 pound unsalted peanuts
1 TBSP brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1 TBSP peanut oil, if desire to make more creamy
Add peanuts to a food processor and process until creamy- about 2-3 minutes. It may take several minutes. Add brown sugar and salt when creamy and oil. Transfer to Tupperware or mason jar. (We made our peanut butter without the oil for a thicker consistency).
Homemade Almond Butter with Honey
20 Almonds (about)
1 tsp honey
dash salt to taste
Add almonds to a food processor and process until creamy. Add honey and salt to taste. Transfer to Tupperware or mason jar.
Hope you enjoy like I did, with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!
